Scuba Shack was Steve’s first website project in 1998 and he’s provided multiple site redesigns since then. In 2007, Scuba Shack’s site was moved from Front Page – which no longer exists – to WordPress and since then the site’s content has been “plugged in” to about five WordPress themes. The site is very visual with plenty of color and photos on the home page. The site includes news and travel categories for posts, and a staff blog to highlight adventures from the pool deck and classroom to far-away diving destinations.

Check out the travel section of the site, which uses WordPress’ custom post types feature, iThemes Builder and the LoopBuddy plugin to show a “trip snapshot” and highlight the trip dates and cost. We’ve also incorporated Facebook comments on each post and embedded the store’s Google Calendar that allows the training director and manager to make a change to the calendar and have it automatically be updated and displayed on the site.
